Sandi Byrne, President, Research Specialists, LLC
Sandi Byrne was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Studies, along with a teaching certification for grades 6 through 12 in Social Studies. Soon after graduation she moved to Boca Raton, Florida and accepted her first teaching position at Rosarian Academy in West Palm Beach. At that time Rosarian Academy was an all girl boarding, middle and senior high school where she was a resident dean and teacher. Among the many subjects she taught were Comparative Political Systems, Florida History, and Geography. She then moved on to the public school sector for the School District of Palm Beach County for more than 30 years. There Sandi was employed full time as a middle school teacher, teaching among other subjects: World History, Geography, Florida History, and American History, while writing curriculum in the summers for high school level Comparative Political Systems and World History. After attending Nova Southeastern University for the first time she earned her certification in Educational Media for grades K-12 and was hired as an Elementary School Media Specialist. Again attending Nova Southeastern University and earning her Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership she was then hired as Assistant Principal and then Principal. At the first school where she served as Principal she established one of the first Dual Language Spanish Programs. She then served as Principal of a Primary Years International Baccalaureate Programme authorized school, and now a published author. Throughout her career she worked tirelessly for the academic achievement and personal edification of the thousands of children that she served and their communities.
Stephen J. Byrne, Historical Researcher
Stephen Byrne was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from Saint Norbert College in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the training site for the Green Bay Packers Championship Team. Stephen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in Spanish and Military Science (ROTC). He entered the military as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army Military Police Corp. Once his service was complete, he moved to South Florida where he attended Florida Atlantic University, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education as well as a Master of Arts Degree in History. Stephen was first employed by the School District of Palm Beach County as a teacher of History, teaching Advanced Placement American and European History, Geography, Economics and Law Studies. He was soon enlisted as the Social Studies Specialist for Secondary Schools for the school district, then as an ESOL Specialist, and later as the Assistant Director of the Department of Multicultural Education. As Assistant Director he managed multimillion-dollar budgets, applied for and acquired local, state and federal grants. He established working relationships with local universities, numerous community groups and many consulates from around the world. Writing, editing and managing the publication of multiple curriculums in History, Multicultural Education, and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) was a large part of Stephen's responsibilities.
Stephen and Sandi have been happily married since 1978 and going strong.
